Head of Finance - International

Working closely with the European business unit creating a real and active partnership with both operations and management. Provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making. Show professional curiosity in commercial operations and question status quo.

Overview of the role

• Day to day advisory role with the VP International to provide ad hoc analysis and commercial/financial insights relating to business decisions
• Work closely with Country Managers to deliver accurate budgets/forecasts and present to ExCom to align the numbers with commercial strategies
• Responsible for managing a team to help develop and coach individuals
• Evaluate investment opportunities to assess viability through NPV, IRR and other financial analysis models
• Key finance lead in International Go-Direct project team to expand the business through acquisitions or organic growth
• Perform finance due diligence on potential acquisition targets with the help of external advisors
• Implementation of new finance system throughout new territories
• Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting (KPIs/Dashboards) on business performance
• Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies
• Providing effective commercial procedures, or initiating change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
• Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams

Competencies required

Essential

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or International equivalent)
• Advanced level in MS Excel
• Demonstratable experience of financial acumen
• Experience in leading, coaching and developing teams
• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to travel

Desirable

• Multilingual languages
• Experience in managing multinational teams across countries
• Experience in M&As and setting up new legal entities in foreign countries
