About Alan
Alan started at Rayner in December 2015, joining as a senior legal counsel with a combination of both private practice and in-house experience. Alan is dual-qualified as a solicitor and trade mark attorney, and is an associate member of the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.
Whilst in private practice, Alan gained significant experience as an associate solicitor in corporate, compliance, commercial and intellectual property matters at a major regional law firm, representing clients across a number of industries. Alan’s in-house experience prior to joining Rayner was as legal counsel at a research-intensive university, advising on a broad range of commercial/IP arrangements including industry collaborations, clinical trials, IP licensing, consortium and investment agreements. Since Alan joined Rayner, the business has grown at an incredible pace – during this time Alan has overseen the M&A activity of the group, as well as managing the expanding legal operations required of a high-growth business.
Whilst away from work, Alan enjoys keeping active with his young family, spending time in the gym and exploring the South Downs.
