We’re excited to share an internal opportunity for an Assistant Team Leader within our Production Department, in Cosmetic Inspection. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership capability, broaden your technical experience, and play a key role in driving performance, quality, and team engagement.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, setting the standard through their actions, and supporting others to succeed, while still being deeply involved in day-to-day production.
As an Assistant Team Leader, you’ll be accountable for your team’s performance. You will provide guidance to help oversee room performance and ensure production demands are met. You’ll be actively involved on the machines and processes, stepping in to set up and run rooms when required, and supporting the wider operation where needed.
This is a highly hands-on role, working alongside the team to deliver room output while ensuring all functions are effectively covered. From time to time, and where suitably trained, you may be asked to support other departments, demonstrating positive behaviours and helping to maintain strong morale and engagement across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee room performance, working on and off the machines and processes when required.
- Be fully involved in daily workflows and instructions to all staff to keep in line with production demands.
- Initiate and track team performance discussions.
- Assist with Process Improvement activities and new ways of working.
- Lead staff training and certification when required.
- When required step into an overseeing role aiding the room performance and output.
- Be an active go to technician who is open to support new starters and maintain a high level of ability within the area, a strong people person is required.
- Look at forward demands and plan with the area lead the need for any overtime or staffing increases / training requirements.
- To carry out any duties as requested to aid the production process and deemed required by the area lead or the production managers.
- Assist the Team Leader with coaching your team to ensure strong performance that drives results, including the management of poor performance/behaviour in line with HR support.
- Assist the Team Leader with their responsibility for the motivation and engagement of your team members ensuring they receive recognition that makes them feel valued and receive feedback that helps them improve.
Health & Safety / Quality:
- Ensure that the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures are followed.
- Follow safety procedures and use the protective equipment provided and per SOP and best practice.
- Ensure the Quality Policy and procedures are adhered to.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), including equipment and facility cleaning.
- To complete all data entries accurately and fully onto the process records.
- Promoting best practice and acting in the best interests of the company.

Hands-On Operational Expertise*: skilled in machinery, processes, and production workflows.
Desirable:
* 5s / Kaizen / Lean working knowledge
*Please note that due to the nature of this role, you are required to wear full PPE including a lab suit, mask, and gloves to maintain cleanliness and safety*.
