We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join our team in DACH, based in our Berlin office.

The role holder will be responsible for providing high quality and timely administrative support to the Finance functions supporting the entire DACH region from Berlin, focusing exclusively on finance-related services.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provision of full finance assistant service to the Berlin office
  • Courier, mail and other general administrative tasks as the finance function requires
  • Support with the below:

o   Management Account in liaise with auditors and tax consultants in DACH to ensure all the documents and records are updated and provide correctly monthly to the Management Account for fiscal and legal purposes.

o   Accounting and preparation of financial documents (such as incoming goods, invoicing)

o   Provide cover for Management Account activities during vacation and sick leave.

o   Payment reminders/ warnings

o   Monitoring and provision of the daily sales figures for finance UK

o   Intercompany re-charging of relevant overheads of other cost centres (e.g. Regulatory)

o   To document finance related processes

o   Management of company car fleet and other mobility benefits (e.g. company bicycle) for DACH

o   Create half year sales report for BvMed

  • Monthly Stock and consignment report, Consolidation of stock accounting (inventory)
  • Property related activities for the occupied premises
  • Expense claim review, adjustments, processing and reconciliation

 

What Experience & Skills You Will Need:

 

Essential

  • Proven experience in a finance assistant or accounting support role.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of financial reporting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Fluency in German (written and spoken).
  • Working proficiency in English, especially for communication with UK-based teams.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Formal qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (e.g., Ausbildung in Buchhaltung, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent).
  • Certification such as DATEV, Bilanzbuchhalter, or Lohnbuchhalter (Germany-specific).
  • Experience with financial reporting tools or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with document management systems and digital workflows.
  • Understanding of German tax laws, VAT, and payroll processes.
  • Experience liaising with auditors or tax consultants.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to improve processes.
  • Experience managing company car fleets or mobility benefits.
