You will work closely with the global marketing team, to ensure strategies and tactics are aligned to global messaging, campaigns and communications, while also working closely with the commercial teams in the region to ensure marketing activities meet commercial expectations and objectives.

You will build effective relationships with KOLs and other external stakeholders to harness their cooperation and engagement in developing innovative products and participate in and actively engage in organising specialist marketing programs at major industry conferences in the region, such as APAO, APACRS, DOS, AIOS, RANZCO, AUSCRS and other key national meetings within the region – focus markets will include Australia, India, South Korea, Taiwan & S.E. Asia markets.

Marketing team members within the International region will also report into this role. Currently this role has one direct report, although the team will grow as Rayner’s direct presence in the region expands. 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, deliver and report on regional (International), local (home market) and distributor marketing strategies for the approved Rayner portfolio in the region.
  • Line management responsibility for the marketing team members in the International region.
  • Develop and recommend tailored pricing strategies in-region.
  • Plan and execute home market congresses; additionally, provide strategic direction and support to in-region congresses.
  • Involvement in the planning and coordination of clinical studies and pre-market studies to support global Eye Science objectives and local KOL-led Share of Voice activities (podium, print, online communications).
  • Support Key Opinion Leaders program initiatives (through PR and Practice Management).
  • Develop and manage your budgets to ensure spend is in-line with approved business plans.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Degree in Business / Marketing / Science / Optometry / Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • International product marketing experience.
  • Experience launching new products and managing product life cycles.
  • Strong scientific background, able to comprehend and interpret scientific/clinical data.

Desirable

  • Formal business or marketing qualifications (e.g., CIM).
  • Experience working in Optometry/ophthalmology (surgical and diagnostic ophthalmology).
  • Language: English, 2nd language preferred.
  • Understanding of medical device regulations.
