We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President Europe to lead our commercial efforts across the region. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and executing our commercial strategy, driving revenue growth and profitability, expanding our market presence, and launching new products.

 

This role demands a leader with a strong track record in commercial leadership, market development, and team management within the ophthalmology sector. The VP Europe will be a member of the Rayner Executive Committee (ExCom), convening quarterly.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Implement a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with company objectives.

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape to drive growth.

  • Consider and recommend additional go-direct models where appropriate.

  • Drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives and partnerships.

  • Develop and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics.

  • Drive core focus products including premium EMV, Sophi, HASA and RayPRO.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team across Europe.

  • Overall responsibility for Rayner subsidiaries and channel partners via a team of Country and International Business Managers.

  • Continue buildout of Sophi SES team to support capital equipment expansion.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Establish and lead a network of key opinion leaders across Europe to support Rayner’s new product development and scientific promotion.

  • Act as a key stakeholder for the Pan-European Group networks.

  • Ensure roll-out and compliance to Salesforce CRM.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders including marketing, customer service, supply chain, finance and operations.

  • Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and drive synergies across regions.

  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with local laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with commercial operations.

 

What Experience Do You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop talent.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial leadership roles within the ophthalmology sector.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across Europe.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
