Head of Warehousing and Distribution

The Head of Warehousing and Distribution oversees all warehouse operations including; order fulfilment, inventory management and distribution activities. Based at our main distribution center in Gatwick, the role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining high levels of quality control and creating a safe, organised and customer-focused logistics environment.

Your time will be split between our main distributor centre at Gatwick and our Global HQ in Worthing, with some travel worldwide when required to our other warehouses including: USA, Europe, India, Brazil.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead global logistics strategy, aligning transport, warehousing, and distribution with business objectives.
• Optimise transport networks, routes, and warehouse utilization to reduce costs and improve On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, storage, and distribution operations.
• Oversee global warehouse operations and monitor KPIs for internal teams and logistics partners.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including shipping, customs, and import/export compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, suppliers, and commercial teams to ensure seamless product flow.
• Plan and schedule logistics operations to support demand forecasts and optimise cost-to-serve.
• Conduct logistics network reviews and develop strategies for efficiency, risk mitigation, and scalability.
• Ensure adherence to cGDP, environmental guidelines, and global trade regulations.
• Monitor supplier and carrier performance to maintain quality, compliance, and service standards.
• Lead change management and innovation initiatives to enhance global logistics capabilities, including system integration.
• Act as a mentor / coach to the wider team, assess capability gaps and develop the team as needed.

What Experience & Skills You Will Need:

Essential 

• Minimum 15 years experience in global logistics, transport, or supply chain operations.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
• Proven track record in leading global logistics, warehouse systems, or distribution projects.
• Expertise in customs, import/export regulations, and trade compliance.
• Strong initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing multi-site warehouse operations and global transport networks.
• Good working knowledge of warehouse technical solutions (racking, automation etc)

Desirable 

• Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
• ERP or logistics management system implementation experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory and environmental compliance standards.
