The Marketing Director – Americas is responsible for defining and executing the marketing strategy across North America and Latin America to drive sustainable growth across Rayner’s ophthalmic portfolio. With a strong primary focus on North America, this role provides strategic leadership for regional marketing teams and plays a critical role in delivering successful new product launches, strengthening brand presence, and increasing market share across the Americas.
The role will lead a KOL-led, scientifically driven marketing approach, leveraging deep clinical insight, market intelligence, and close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Sales, and global cross-functional teams. Acting as a key interface between global strategy and regional execution, the Global Marketing Director ensures alignment with global brand positioning while tailoring execution to regional market dynamics.
Key responsibilities
- Leading the development and execution of the Americas marketing strategy with a strong emphasis on KOL engagement, scientific communications, and share-of-voice growth;
- Building, leading, and developing a high-performing regional marketing team across North America and Brazil
- Owning regional product messaging and positioning across the portfolio in alignment with global strategy;
- Leading regional launch strategy and execution for new products, ensuring brand consistency, regulatory compliance, and commercial readiness;
- Defining and driving the regional KOL strategy in partnership with Medical Affairs to enhance Rayner’s scientific credibility and influence; collaborating closely with Global Product Management, Global Clinical, and Global Communications to ensure alignment on strategy, evidence, and messaging;
- Leading marketing analytics, insights, and performance measurement across the Americas; and developing and managing the Americas marketing budget to maximise impact and return on investment.

New Product Launch Excellence: Leads global and regional launch strategy for new ophthalmic products, ensuring cross-functional alignment and disciplined execution.
Ophthalmology Market & Clinical Insight: Demonstrates deep understanding of ophthalmology, surgical workflows, and clinical evidence to inform differentiated positioning.
Sales Partnership & Field Enablement: Partners closely with sales leadership to deliver effective value propositions, tools, and training that drive adoption.
Brand & Portfolio Leadership: Owns global brand strategy and lifecycle management across the portfolio, ensuring consistency and regional relevance.
Data-Driven Marketing: Uses market insights, analytics, and performance metrics to guide strategy, optimise launches, and drive continuous improvement.
Compliance & Governance: Ensures all marketing activities comply with global and regional medical device regulations and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree; science, business, or related fields
- Ophthalmology or vision care experience
- The ability to interpret scientific/clinical data
- Experience launching new products and managing product life cycles
- The ability to travel
Desirable
- Understanding of medical device and pharmaceutical regulations
- Commercial experience selling medical devices or pharmaceuticals and/or managing a sales team
- Second language – Portuguese and/or Spanish.
