We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our dynamic commercial & sales team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting, demonstrating, and selling our cutting-edge Sophi Phaco machines to healthcare facilities and supporting our distribution network in the region. They will also promote a full range of related consumable and disposable products as part of Sophi and Rayner. This position requires a deep understanding of cataract procedures and the operating room environment and a proven track record in medical equipment sales, training and support. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Commercial Performance 

*  Commercial strategy development and implementation for Sophi and Sophia accessories across India. Collaborate closely with the head of region to ensure that commercial goals are met. 

*  Launch of Sophi across India market 

*  Driving sales of Sophi consumables and accessories 

*  Launch of Sophi’s VR platform in the region 

*  Working on National tenders and with Govt. agencies to support distribution and use of Sophi products 

 

  1. Formal Training

*  Successfully complete a formal training and certification program in Switzerland 

*  Develop a comprehensive understanding of our surgical equipment portfolio 

 

3. Relationship Building 

*  Build strong relationships with key decision makers in healthcare facilities 

*  Working with Rayner’s IOL’s teams to ensure future bundling of Rayner’s lens, OVD and consumable business is wrapped into Sophi sales across the above markets 

*  Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets 

*  Visits to national distributor congresses 

*  Planning and conducting regional sales meetings 

*  Sales forecasting with distributors across India 

 

4. Customer Education & Trainings 

*  Educate customers on the features and benefits of the Sophi range of machines 

*  Conducting Sophi machine trainings for key customers and internal commercial team 

 

5. KOL (Key Opinion Leader) Development 

*  Responsible for building and maintaining relationships between distributors and key opinion leaders 

*  Visiting operating theatres and conducting demos at KOLs 

*  KOL development for Sophi across all regional markets 

 

6. Quoting and Proposal Generation 

*  Work with internal stakeholders to prepare quotations and offerings to customers 

*  Facilitate an appropriate pricing strategy for multi-product offerings. 

 

7. Pre-sales 

*  Identify cross-selling opportunities from the wider Rayner portfolio 

Facilitate and lead wet labs, on site demonstrations

 

8. Clinical Evaluation 

*  Demonstrate the Sophi range in the O.R. during live surgery, programming the devices in response to surgeon preference 

*  Onboard the O.R. team over a period of several months. 

 

9. After Sales 

*  Provide first line technical support to HCPs, facilities, and colleagues. 

*  Provide post-market surveillance to support MDR 

 

10. Sales reporting 

*  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and pipeline management 

 

11. Attend Conferences and Trade shows 

*  Represent the company and local and international trade shows where needed 

 

12. People Management & High-Performance Surgical Support 

Manage the team of Clinical Application Specialist and Service Engineers across the markets. This includes in field training, mentoring, and strategic support to achieve sales targets

What Experience & Skills Do You Need:

*  Proven track record in surgical equipment sales.

*  Proven track record in ophthalmology sales.

*  Strong understanding of cataract surgery.

*  Ability to work independently and as part of a team, locally and in the region.

*  Experience of first line technical service.

*  Willingness to travel and spend several weeks demonstrating the Sophi range in the O.R.

*  Working with distributor partners to support commercial sales and demonstrations of Sophi technology.

*  Education University degree (commerce, law, business administration, economics) or equivalent education

*  5 plus years' experience in a similar position, preferably in ophthalmology or the medical technology industry with investment equipment.
