We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Surgical Equipment Specialist (SES) to join our dynamic and growing sales team. You will play a critical role in driving growth, supporting partners, and ensuring our innovative surgical solutions reach their full market potential. The Surgical Equipment Specialist (SES) will work collaboratively with a Regional team, consisting of a Territory Manager, Region Business Director and other strategic stakeholders to strategically drive Rayner’s portfolio of capital equipment. Prioritizing the protection and growth of our core products, while expanding our footprint of anchoring capital equipment technologies (SOPHI) into new and existing accounts.

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Attain or exceed yearly revenue and profit quotas for region of responsibility
  • Responsible for selling a full portfolio of Cataract Equipment products which includes; Capital Equipment, Disposables, Accessories, and other products
  • Customer interactions include Hospital/ASC/Teaching Institutions/Managed Care/Buying Groups personnel (to include, O.R. staff, Purchasing, Administration, Biomed, Infection Control, Central  Sterile and other departments who have decision making authority on the purchase and use of Rayner’s products)
  • Will lead the targeting and selling efforts for SOPHI sales within their assigned region and will collaborate with their Regional Team in utilizing assets towards sales success in these areas
  • Responsible for the following: Lead generation, sales proposal development, management of product demo evaluations, as well as post sale equipment in-services
  • Protect, secure and grow our consumable business through equipment conversion and product /service/technology innovation
  • Deliver value through customer’s technical skill set, working with them to fully utilize and realize the capabilities of the SOPHI platform
  • Successfully complete a formal training and certification program
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our surgical equipment portfolio.
  • Build strong relationships with surgeons and key decision makers in healthcare facilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets
  • Educate customers & Distributors on the features and benefits of Sophi. Quoting and proposal generation
  • Prepare quotations and offerings to customers
  • Facilitate an appropriate pricing strategy for multi-product offerings
  • Support wetlabs, demonstrations, and clinical evaluations in collaboration with local partners
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and pipeline management
  • Attend conferences and trade shows.
  • Represent SOPHI at local and international congresses, trade shows

 
 

QUALIFICATIONS/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • At least 2 years of business-to-business and/or medical sales experience OR, any equivalent combination of sales and/or industry experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
  • A valid driver’s license issued in the United States.
  • The ability to travel as needed, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, competitive selling technique, business acumen, organizational skills, managing complexity, written and oral communication skills\
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of sales applications and principles.
  • Residence in or within close proximity to the geography.
  • Proven track record in surgical equipment sales.
  • Proven track record in ophthalmology sales.
  • Strong understanding of cataract surgery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of first line technical service.
