Purpose of the Role:

This position is responsible for designing, maintaining and managing sales information systems, customer service, standard business operating processes and brand training for the sales and marketing organizations. These functions will be owned internally, co-operatively managed within Rayner, or contracted to a third-party.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Co-operatively (within Rayner) design and implement information management systems that will allow for accurate and timely reporting of product unit sales, distribution channel inventory, and average selling price. Post implementation, continuously monitor and upgrade systems for compliance with external reporting requirements.
  • Develop and manage the process to adjudicate rebates, chargebacks and discounts to trade, private provider and governmental agencies. Ensures the accurate and timely processing and documentation of these transactions.
  • Manage the installation, testing, training and roll-out of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or Sales Force Automation (SFA) software system for retaining customer data and contact history with employees at Rayner; the system will also be used for geographic sales reporting. Will work co-operatively with IT to ensure the design and procurement of hardware to run this software is fully compatible with other key information systems.
  • In cooperation with finance, develop and manage the implementation of expense reporting, fleet management and travel authorization for the sales force at Rayner. Will prepare standard operating procedures and management reports for sales management.
  • In conjunction with senior sales management, will author and approve sales compliance policies for review and approval by the department VP, Regulatory and Legal.
  • Will coordinate systems development with Medical Affairs to ensure a high level of customer service and follow-up on all external product inquiries.

 

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, or a life science required; Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in life sciences / pharmaceutical / medical device industry
  • 5+ years of experience in sales operations required; supplemental experience in sales management, sales training, and/or marketing is preferred.
  • Development and implementation of at least one sales training program used continuously for at least one year is highly desirable.

 

Desirable

  • 10+ years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience in at least one “start-up” biopharma company, preferably at the pre-commercial stage and with direct responsibility for design and implementation of at least one applicable business system.
  • The employee is occasionally required to travel overnight.
