The purpose of this role is to oversee the monitoring and performance of the planned preventative maintenance programme and renewal or alterations made to the structures or electrical and mechanical services of the Company’s premises

To assist with miscellaneous alteration, improvement and infrastructure projects

As part of the Building Services team, manage and maintain the structures and mechanical and electrical services at the Company’s premises including the following key functions:

  • Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the Company’s and / or third party specialist procedures and requirements
  • Carry out routine inspection functions in accordance with the Company’s and / or third party specialist procedures and requirements
  • Plan and manage preventative maintenance activities including works in-house and works by 3rd party providers
  • Ensure that planned preventative maintenance activities are coordinated with the business function to minimise operational impact
  • Identify, draft and implement Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of the Building Services function
  • Assist the Building Services Manager in managing service provider contracts including arranging and supervising contractor attendances, contract renewals and unplanned works.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and procedures
  • Assist with ongoing improvement of Health and Safety throughout the business
  • Assist the Building Services Manager to ensure compliance with relevant statutory obligations
  • Carry out surveys and prepare improvement schemes.  Design new systems and additions to existing installations. Manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Update and maintain the Building Services Maintenance database in accordance with the Company’s procedures
  • Manage engineering service contracts
  • Draft day work orders, prepare estimates, specifications, supervise contractors and check and approve accounts. Obtain statutory approvals where needed.
  • Exercise control on day-to-day expenditure.  Supervise contracts.
  • Review and report on equipment performance levels
  • Review and report on contractor performance levels
  • Be responsible for a range of general mechanical design duties, and when required undertake the review of electrical works such as lighting, small power, fire alarms systems, and some other similar type systems.
  • Consult with management on identified needs and the implementation of repair projects.
  • To carry out other duties appropriate to the level and character of the post.

Qualifications: 

Essential

  • BTEC/HNC/HND Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent appropriate qualification
  • Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers 
  • Full UK driving license (preferred)
