Purpose of the Role:

  • Develop the sales strategy, tactics, plans and targets in line with the business objectives as described in the 5-year plan for France.
  • Recruit, manage, motivate and lead a team of direct reports including but not limited to Territory Managers, Associate Territory Managers and Inside sales.
  • Set quarterly and annual KPIs, organizing regional and remote meetings, measuring performance and team progress.
  • Provide face-to-face support to employees during contract and pricing negotiations with major customers.
  • Participate and at times lead negotiations with regional and national Groups.
  • Focus on premium IOL sales and hydrophobic monofocal contracts, driving the adoption of Rayner’s unique, patient reported outcomes, software RayPRO to highly differentiate the offering.
  • Transform Rayner’s presence in Group establishments, securing significant wins in 2023 and 2024.
  • Build Rayner’s single-use instrument footprint achieving targets set for the HASA portfolio.
  • Develop Rayner’s Ocular Surface Disease business executing a strategy of hospital usage and repeat purchases in the community.
  • Identify potential growth and partnering opportunities within the market.
  • Achieve targets for revenue, profitability and growth.
  • Understand market challenges within the region and apply strategic thinking to generate new business opportunities with both new and existing customers.
  • As part of the French Leadership team, attend QBRs, forecasting, Key Account Review Group, and management meetings where necessary.
  • Lead the roll out of Salesforce CRM in France, developing a robust opportunity pipeline.  
  • Ensure the strictest compliance in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years ophthalmology experience
  • At least 3 to 5 years management experience 
  • Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process in the medical environment.
  • Deep understanding of France procurement process for IOLs
  • Well-developed relationships with French KOLs.
  • Educated to Degree level, ideally Life Sciences, Business or Marketing
  • Fluent English preferred
