The Sales Director UK&I will lead in the commercial development and growth of the region in line with Rayner's strategic objectives across a surgical, pharma and OSD portfolio. Driving sales excellence through an effective, agile commercial structure. You will be managing and measuring performance and rewarding growth accordingly.

 

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • It is imperative the successful candidate continues to develop and drive the sales strategy, tactics, plans and budgets in line with the business objectives.
  • Manage, motivate and lead a team of direct reports including but not limited to the NSM and OSD NAM in addition to the independent sales agents for Ireland
  • Deliver Significant growth across multiple product areas in the Surgical cataract space. Including a substantial IOL portfolio, consumables and gaining a significant share of the phaco-emulsification market in line with budgets, profitability and growth targets
  • Develop and facilitate Rayner’s OSD portfolio in line with company strategy
  • Take ownership and transform Rayner’s presence in UK Independent Group sector
  • Support the 2024 launch of Omidria into UK Private Groups
  • Working closely and proactively with internal stakeholders such as customer services and supply chain to ensure delivery and availability of product in line with demand
  • Work closely with the UK Contracts and Tenders Director to deliver growth in strategic public accounts
  • Exceed targets for revenue, profitability and growth
  • Create and lead the implementation of the UK and Ireland sales strategy, set policies, processes and metrics to provide a consistent approach across the business
  • Understand market challenges within the region and apply strategic thinking to generate new business opportunities with both new and existing customers
  • Liaise with all parts of the Group and build strong working relationships to ensure that sale customers remain a priority.
  • As part of the European Leadership team, attend QBRs, forecasting, KAR and management meetings as necessary
  • Ability to accurately forecast on twice monthly basis and 3 monthly planning of revenues across the financial year. Projecting shifts in the market potentially impact revenues
  • Manage, motivate and lead a senior management team across Surgical and Pharma
  • Identify potential growth and partnering opportunities within the market

 

What Experience Do You Need

  • Minimum 10 years ophthalmology experience 

  • Experience in 'Go direct' to new market, or building a business 

  • Deep understanding of public procurement process for surgical and pharmaceutical products

  • Deep understanding and key relationships within the independent sector 

  • Ability to demonstrate track record in above 

  • Business / Science Degree, MBA (desirable)

  • ABPI qualified (desirable)
